What Is CBSE Reevaluation 2026?

CBSE Revaluation 2026 is the official, post-result facility given to Class 10 and 12 students to request a review of their answer sheets. Essentially, it's a formal opportunity through which students can challenge the marks obtained, rectify evaluation errors, if any, and therefore improve the score. 

When students feel their answer sheets were evaluated incorrectly, the re-evaluation process is ideal. CBSE offers a structured post-result review process, and the process matters more than ever because of the newly introduced OSM system.

This is the new on-screen marking system that CBSE launched. Thousands of students reportedly received unexpectedly low scores due to this new system. Here, examiners mark digitally scanned answer scripts rather than physical copies.

Services You Can Apply For CBSE Class 12 Revaluation 2026

While applying for CBSE revaluation 2026 class 12, here are the services you should know.

All three fees were officially slashed by CBSE in May 2026, in light of the newly introduced On-Screen Marking (OSM) method and its controversy.

After evaluation, if the marks increase, a full refund will be provided.

Important note:

You must follow the sequence while applying for the re-evaluation.

• Step 1 - You must first apply for a photocopy
• Step 2 - Only then can you apply for verification
• Step 3 - Only then can you apply for re-evaluation

It means you can skip the first step. Students who missed the photocopy window (May 19–25) are now ineligible to apply for verification or re-evaluation.

Application for Re-evaluation: Step-by-Step Process

The process to apply for the CBSE answer sheet photocopy class 12 2026 is straightforward.

1. Visit cbse.gov.in and click on "Post Result Services"
2. Log in to the portal with your Roll Number, School Number, and Centre Number (from your admit card)
3. Select subjects you want reviewed
4. Pay for the fees via UPI, debit or credit card, or net banking
5. Download your confirmation receipt
6. After receiving your scanned copy, apply for verification/re-evaluation (May 26–29) by specifying the exact question numbers you want reviewed

Applications are online only. Offline or school-based submissions are not accepted.

After You Apply: What Happens Next?

•     A subject expert committee reviews your flagged answers
•     You can track your application status online: Submitted → Processing → Completed
•     If marks change, updated results are uploaded to your CBSE login
•     No individual messages are sent. You need to check the portal directly
•   Based on 2025 patterns, results are typically declared 6–8 weeks after the window closes

Marks can go up or down during revaluation for CBSE Class 12 2026. In case the review further lowers the marks, no further request will be entertained.  So, it is advisable to apply only if you have clear, specific grounds.

Should You Apply? Be Honest With Yourself

Apply if:

•     If you spotted an unchecked answer in your photocopy
•     There’s a visible difference in the total number of errors in marking
•     Your internal marks were strong, but your board score is dramatically lower
•     You’re close to a cut-off for a college or a course

Don't apply if:

•     Don’t review for your CBSE answer book 2026 if you just "feel" you deserved more
•     You haven’t reviewed your photocopy carefully against the official marking scheme
•   Your marks are borderline low because your answers were genuinely incomplete, wrong, or not up to the mark
