BA with Specialization in Political Science

"My Journey with Amity Online: A Story of Growth, Gratitude and Transformation" Hi, My name is Steve Johann Sum and I’m currently pursuing my BA in English at Amity University Online. Coming from a background where dreams often had to take a backseat to responsibilities, I always aspired for higher education that could not only empower me with knowledge but also give me the flexibility to balance my other commitments. That’s when I found Amity Online and something in my heart said, “This is the place.” I chose Amity Online because it offered more than just a degree. It promised a journey. A journey I could walk at my own pace, yet never alone. The flexibility, the quality of education, the reputation of Amity and the strong digital infrastructure were everything I was looking for. As someone with a curious mind and a deep love for learning, I wanted a place where I could explore my academic interests while staying grounded in my everyday life. Amity Online became that bridge between my dreams and my reality. From the very first class, I could feel the difference. The faculty members are not just educators they are mentors, guides and genuine well-wishers. Even in an online setting, they’ve managed to bring warmth and encouragement into every session. They understand the challenges that come with online learning and they never fail to motivate us, accommodate our doubts and challenge us to rise higher. One of the most heartening aspects of this journey has been the human connection. I’ve had professors who reached out personally after noticing a dip in participation, asking, “Are you doing okay?” That kind of empathy is rare and invaluable. They don’t just teach, they truly care. Through my coursework, I’ve gained so much more than academic knowledge. I’ve developed critical thinking skills, sharpened my communication abilities and cultivated a disciplined approach to learning. I’ve learned to analyze texts in depth, appreciate different literary perspectives and express myself with clarity and confidence. These skills have not only enriched my academic life but have also made me more articulate and self-assured in everyday conversations. One specific skill I’ve come to truly value is time management. Balancing studies with personal commitments isn’t easy, but the structure of Amity’s online learning system, weekly assignments, recorded lectures, discussion forums, has helped me plan better and stick to deadlines. I’ve also become quite adept at digital collaboration and academic research, skills that are increasingly important in today’s world. Amity Online’s features are nothing short of impressive. The learning management system is intuitive and user-friendly, making it easy to access lectures, submit assignments and stay updated. I particularly love the recorded sessions, which allow me to revisit important points at my own pace. The live lectures are interactive and thought-provoking and the discussion boards give students a platform to exchange ideas and perspectives. What stands out the most, though, is the focus on holistic development. Amity Online doesn’t just teach from textbooks it offers webinars, career guidance, soft skills training and access to a global alumni network. These elements make me feel like I’m part of a dynamic, evolving ecosystem rather than a static classroom. Would I recommend Amity Online to others? Absolutely. In a heartbeat. I would recommend it not just for its academic excellence but for the sense of empowerment it offers. Whether you’re a working professional looking to upskill, a stay-at-home parent with dreams to chase or someone like me who simply needed a second chance at education, Amity Online opens doors you didn’t even know existed. This university has given me hope, confidence and the tools to shape my future. It’s taught me that learning doesn’t have to stop, no matter where you are in life. I’m proud to be a part of the Amity family and I carry that pride with me every single day. To anyone reading this and wondering whether to take the leap, go for it. Your journey might just begin here, like mine did and who knows? It might just change your life.
