IGNOU OPENMAT 2025: Exam Details for MBA in Distance Learning

The IGNOU OPENMAT was a well-known national entrance examination that was held by IGNOU (and later the National Testing Agency or NTA) for IGNOU MBA admissions, covering the MBA, Executive MBA, and PG Diploma courses. Once a major part of the admission process for MBA courses at IGNOU, the test has been discontinued, with the last one being held in 2021. 

IGNOU MBA admission 2025 will now take place directly through IGNOU’s official portal for admissions. The IGNOU eligibility for an MBA will now involve the merit scores that aspirants get in their last qualifying degree courses. IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) is currently taking applications for its January 2025 MBA course.

IGNOU Eligibility for MBA

You can only register at the IGNOU management portal if you meet the basic eligibility criteria. You should have passed your bachelor’s degree (a three-year undergraduate course) with a minimum of 50% marks (general category). For those in the reserved categories, the minimum pass percentage is 45%.

How to Apply for IGNOU MBA 2025

A step-by-step guide on  how you can apply for MBA admissions on the IGNOU website: 

1. Browse through the available programs and choose the one you wish to apply for 
2. Read all details including the fees, duration, eligibility, etc. 
3. Download the Common Prospectus and read the university regulations accordingly
4. Click New Registration in the applicant login part and fill up all the information that is required 
5. Give your own mobile number and email while registering and choose a user name that is between 8-16 characters. Also, make sure you select an alphanumeric password between 8-16 characters.
6. Click on Submit once you have entered all details and get your username and credentials via SMS and email. 
7. Now click on Login and upload your documents (scanned signature, photograph, educational qualification, experience certificate if it is applicable, and category certificate)
8. Fill up the form and pay the application fee via debit/credit cards or net banking. 
9. After uploading, you will get a Form preview option that you can print/save for future reference. 

Remember that the registration fee is non-refundable. Also, any cancellation request sent after the confirmation of admission will result in a deduction of 15% of the program fee (maximum of Rs 2,000) from the amount paid.
