TISSNET 2025: Key Details for Tata Institute of Social Sciences Admissions

The TISSNET Exam was the primary entrance exam for admission to PG programs at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS). The exam has been discontinued from the year 2024, and in replacement, students now have to submit CAT-PG or CUET-PG scores for admission.

The TISSNET was for admission to the campuses of the institution at Tuljapur, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Guwahati. TISSNET 2025 : Key Details of the Replacement Exams
In place of the TISSNET test, there are now two options for admissions to postgraduate programs at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. Here’s taking a closer look at the same.
- CAT-PG - Admissions will be based on these scores for three specific programs, namely the Master of Arts in Human Resource Management & Labor Relations, Master of Arts in Organization Development, Change, and Leadership, and Master of Hospital Administration
- CUET-PG - All other PG programs will have admissions conducted on the basis of candidate performance in this entrance examination.

CUET-PG 2025 Dates & Eligibility
The tentative dates are the following:
- Online application submission- December, 2024
- Application form correction period- 3rd week of January, 2025
- Exam date- 2nd week of March, 2025
Eligibility:
- Bachelor’s degree with minimum marks required by the institution
- Fulfillment of all other criteria of the institution
CUET-PG Pattern & Key Information
In place of the TISSNET exam pattern, since CUET-PG is the predominant one for admission into TISS PG programs, here are some key details on the CUET-PG examination pattern.
- The examination is held once every year by the NTA (National Testing Agency)
- It is a computer-based test
- The exam duration is 1 hour and 45 minutes (105 minutes)
- The marking scheme is +4 for every answer that is right and -1 for every wrong answer
- The testing languages are English and Hindi
CUET-PG Application Fees & Important Guidelines
The application fees are the following:
- Up to two test papers (General)- Rs 1,200
- Fees for additional test papers (General)- Rs 500 per paper
- Up to two test papers (OBC-NCL/Gen-EWS)- Rs 900
- Fees for additional test papers (OBC-NCL/Gen-EWS)- Rs 500
- Up to two test papers (SC/ST/Third Gender)- Rs 900
- Fees for additional test papers (SC/ST/Third Gender)- Rs 500
- Up to two test papers (PwBD)- Rs 800
- Fees for additional test papers (PwBD)- Rs 500
Registration Guidelines:
- Register and make a note of the application number generated by the system
- Fill up the online form with all necessary information, make the password, select a security question, enter its answer, and submit
- Login with credentials and complete the form with all personal details, applying for specific papers, selecting examination cities, offering academic details, and uploading documents (signature, photograph, etc)
- Pay the examination fees via net banking, credit/debit cards, or UPI
- Download and save the confirmation page of the application form. You may also print a copy for future reference

CAT-PG 2025 Important Details
This examination is also used in place of the TISSNET exam now for three specific courses as outlined above. Here are some key details regarding the same.
- The likely examination date is the 30th of November, 2025
- The official notification regarding the same is expected by the 30th of July, 2025
- For TISS admissions, the weightage given to CAT scores is 95% for two courses and 90% for the Masters in Hospital Administration program.
- 5% is for Gender diversity in the case of all programs, while the Hospital Administration has an additional weightage of 5% for academic diversity
- The basic eligibility guidelines for these programs include bachelor’s degrees as per the institution’s requirements, in addition to work experience and other pre-requisites, depending on the specific course
