CBSE 12th results are an important step in every student’s life. Once the results are out, the next big task is deciding what to do next. Many students feel confused at this stage because there are so many courses to choose from. 

Each stream, science, commerce, or arts, leads to different career options. Knowing what each course offers and who can apply is important to making things easier. This guide covers the top courses students are choosing in 2025 to help clarify the next step.

CBSE Class 12 Results 2025: Overall Pass Percentage and Key Highlights

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) released the Class 12 results for 2025 on May 13. They are available on results.cbse.nic.in or cbse.gov.in. The results can also be accessed by logging on to Digilocker

Out of 17.04 lakh students who registered, 16.92 lakh appeared for the exams. A total of 14.96 lakh students passed, resulting in an overall pass percentage of 88.39%. This is a slight increase from last year. Among the top performers, 1,11,544 students (6.59%) scored above 90%, while 24,867 students (1.47%) scored above 95%. 

Girls had a higher pass rate of 91.64%, while boys had 85.70%. Transgender students also showed improvement, achieving a 100% pass rate, up from 50% last year.

List of Top UG Courses After Class 12

After completing Class 12, selecting the right undergraduate course is an important decision that shapes your career path. Here is a list of some of the top UG courses to consider:

B.Tech 

Amity University offers B.Tech programs in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Bioinformatics, and Biotechnology. For admission, students need a minimum of 60% aggregate in Class 10 and 12 with a minimum of 60% in PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics). For sponsored students, the requirement is 55%. For Bioinformatics and Biotechnology, either PCM or PCB is required. JEE Main scores may be required for scholarship consideration.

BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications)

BCA is an ideal program for students interested in computer applications, Maths or related fields. The eligibility requirement is a minimum of 50% aggregate in Class 12 with Mathematics as a subject. 

BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration)

BBA is a popular program for those looking to build a career in business management. Students need a minimum of 50% aggregate in Class 12, in any stream. Admission is merit-based.

B.Arch (Bachelor of Architecture)

For B.Arch, students must have a minimum of 55% aggregate for non-sponsored students and 50% for sponsored students in Class 12 with Physics, Mathematics, and a third subject (such as Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Business Studies etc ). Admission is based on NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) scores for the respective academic year.

B.Com (Bachelor of Commerce)

Amity University offers B.Com. (Hons) requiring 70% in Class XII for non-sponsored and 65% for sponsored. The B.Com. (Hons) with Research and B.Com. (Hons) in Financial Analytics, with eligibility set at 75% in Class XII for non-sponsored and 70% for sponsored.

B.Sc 

Amity University offers B.Sc programs in various specialized fields, such as Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry. The eligibility requirement is a 60% aggregate (10+2) and 60% for non-sponsored students in Class 12 with the relevant subjects. The minimum percentage for sponsored is 55% respectively.

B.A. LL.B. (Bachelor of Arts + Bachelor of Laws)

B.A. LL.B. is designed for students who wish to pursue a career in law. The eligibility criterion is a minimum of 55% aggregate for sponsored and 60% for non-sponsored in Class 12, in any stream. Students with CLAT scores can be considered for direct admission to the law program.

BA

Amity University offers a range of BA programs in fields such as English, History, Political Science, and Psychology. The eligibility requirement for all BA courses is 55% aggregate for sponsored and 60% for non-sponsored in Class 12.

Online Courses

Amity University offers a variety of online undergraduate programs for students. These include:

Overview of CBSE Class 12 Board Exam Difficulty Levels in 2025

The difficulty of the CBSE Class 12 board exams 2025 varied across different subjects. The Physics paper was considered moderately difficult, featuring a mix of theoretical and numerical questions. Some students found the numerical problems challenging, while others found the paper manageable. 

Similarly, the CBSE Class 12 Mathematics Exam 2025 was moderate but lengthy, with some tricky questions. It required good time management to complete all the questions. Although some questions were tricky, the overall difficulty was deemed fair.

Subjects like Chemistry and Economics were more straightforward. The Chemistry paper, based on NCERT textbooks, was direct and familiar to students, and Economics had a balanced mix of theoretical and numerical questions, with a moderate difficulty level. 

The Biology exam, held on March 25, was also considered moderately difficult, with a fair balance of different question types.
