What is a MOEFCC internship?

MOEFCC internship program offers students from diverse educational backgrounds an opportunity to work as interns within its Ministry. Division heads select Interns on merit in consultation with an internal scrutiny committee.

The internship programme gives law students and those from other fields of study invaluable work experience in international law. While designed primarily for law students, its benefits extend beyond this discipline.

At a minimum, the requirement is relevant for a bachelor's degree; internships typically last two months but may be extended further if the intern proves themselves a valuable addition to the organization. Interns do not receive pay; any expenses, such as travel visas, accommodation costs, etc, will fall upon either them personally or their sponsoring institution.

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change offers an Internship Scheme which seeks to engage students pursuing graduate/postgraduation degrees as well as research scholars enrolled in recognized universities/institutions across India or overseas as "Interns".

They would be placed across India at various Divisions/Units within the Ministry, its Integrated Regional Offices, Autonomous Organisations, Subordinate Offices and ENVIS (Resource Partners & Hubs).

This internship aims to provide students, scholars, social activists, and teachers with qualitative exposure to the Ministry's policies and programs by offering short-term association.

Women scholars/students/social activists, and teachers are strongly encouraged to apply. An in-house Selection Committee will select selected interns explicitly appointed for this purpose. All selected interns must present a letter from their Head of Department/Principal/Institute giving consent for taking up this internship on behalf of their Institute.

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) offers internship opportunities to students interested in environmental conservation and sustainable development. Through its internship program, students gain experience working within government while building relationships that may lead to future employment opportunities.

Furthermore, students benefit from MoEFCC's network of working professionals who may offer advice or insight into potential employment prospects.

An internship provides environmental science and biology students aspiring to work in environmental protection with an excellent opportunity to gain more insight into government policymaking, the legislative process and ecological problems and solutions through hands-on fieldwork experience.

Internships are unpaid; however, MoEFCC will provide an honorarium to cover basic costs. However, the intern will be responsible for covering other expenses such as travel, visas, and accommodations and providing adequate medical insurance coverage during their internship experience.

MoEFCC intern scheme seeks to engage graduates/postgraduate degree holders from Indian or foreign Universities/institutions as "Interns". Interns shall be placed across India at Divisions/Units within the Ministry, its Integrated Regional Offices, Autonomous Organizations and Subordinate offices or ENVIS (Resource Partners & Hubs) for short-term exposure to understand its workings, regulatory & developmental policy issues and contribute to empirical analysis through empirical observations.

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) offers an internship scheme to give students experience working directly in this area. Graduating, postgraduate or research students pursuing degrees at recognized institutions within India or overseas may apply to be interns at MoEF&CC.

The application process is determined on merit; interns must submit a Statement of Purpose outlining their area of interest and qualifications for review by MoEF&CC's Research Advisory Committee. Each intern will also be assigned a Guide, typically an experienced senior officer within their Department, who should know about them as an area of study.

Apply to join the Ministry as a graduate or postgraduate program with a focus on one of the areas related to its work: environmental science, law, international relations, natural resource management, human resources or policy. Applicants should also possess an enthusiastic desire to join its workforce.

When asking for an internship, it is essential to be polite and respectful. People lead busy lives; to increase your chance of receiving a response faster from recipients, keep your email brief. Include who you are as well as any prior acquaintanceship.
