Types of MOMA Scholarships 2024

  • Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for Minorities

Rewards Amount MOMA Scholarships 

Students selected for these minority scholarships receive comprehensive financial support for their entire course, covering admission, course/tuition fees, and a maintenance allowance. The maintenance allowance is provided for 10 months of the academic year. Below are the details of the scholarship amounts:

MOMA Scholarships Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for Minorities:

  • Classes 6 to 10
    • Admission Fee: Up to INR 500 per annum (for both day scholars and hostellers)
  • Tuition Fee: Up to INR 350 per month (for both day scholars and hostellers)
  • Maintenance Allowance.

MOMA Scholarships- Merit-cum-Means Scholarship for Professional and Technical Courses (CS):

Eligibility for MOMA Scholarships:

  • Educational Qualifications:
    • Students need to be in classes 1 to 10.

 Application Process of MOMA Scholarships 2024

Eligible students can apply for these minority scholarships online through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). Follow the steps below to complete the minority scholarship application form:

  1. Registration: Fresh applicants need to register on the NSP Portal as new users by providing accurate information.
  2. Documents: Have all the necessary documents ready when applying for the desired scholarship scheme.
  3. Information: Provide details about educational qualifications, Aadhaar number, school/college enrolment number, bank details, and state of domicile during registration.
  4. Application ID: An application ID is generated based on the applicant's domicile state, which serves as the ‘Login ID’ on the NSP Portal for future references.
  5. Scholarship Category: Select the relevant scholarship category when applying. For example, applicants in classes 1 to 10 should choose the pre-matric scholarship scheme.
  6. Personal Details: Carefully fill in details such as name, date of birth, email ID, identification details, and mobile number.

MOMA Scholarships – Instructions for Filling Bank Details

  • Applicants should carefully select their bank and branch name from the drop-down list.
  • Before applying for the MOMA scholarships, students should verify their bank account number and IFSC code with their bank branch to ensure accuracy.
  • If an incorrect account number is provided, the scholarship will be canceled.
  • Students should check the status of their ‘Know Your Customer’ (KYC) and complete it if necessary to ensure the scholarship amount is successfully disbursed to their account.
  • The bank account must be in the applicant’s name.

  • Aadhaar card or Aadhaar enrolment number

Merit-cum-Means Scholarship for Professional and Technical Courses (CS)

  • Self-certified community certificate for students 18 years or older; otherwise, a community certificate certified by the parent/guardian is required
  • Bank passbook with photograph, Ration Card, PAN Card, Passport, or Certificate of Identity with a photo issued by a Headmaster or Principal with the school’s official seal, Driving license, or any document specified by the State Government or UT Administration

MOMA Scholarships – Selection Process

  • Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for Minorities: Selection is based on the applicant’s economic condition. If financial conditions are similar, preference is given to the older applicant.
  • Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme for Minorities: Selection is based on the candidate's financial situation, with preference given to the older candidate in cases of similar family income.
  • Merit-cum-Means Scholarship for Professional and Technical Courses (CS): Selection is based on merit, i.e., the percentage or marks of the last academic course or board exam (higher secondary/graduation). Priority is given to applicants from listed institutions in the merit list.
  • Begum Hazrat Mahal National Scholarship for Minority Girls: Selection is based on the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying exam and the family's annual income.

MOMA Scholarships – Renewal Policy

Scholarships can be renewed for the next academic year if candidates provide a certificate proving they have secured at least 50% marks in the previous year’s examination. Renewal is only applicable if the candidate continues the same course at the same institution.

 MOMA Scholarships – Terms & Conditions

  • 30% of scholarships are reserved for girl students in each minority community within a State/UT. If there is a shortage of female candidates, scholarships can be transferred to male candidates of the same community.
  • No more than two students from the same family can receive the minority scholarship.
  • Students must attend classes regularly.
  • Scholarships can be canceled or suspended if students violate institute/school discipline or any scholarship conditions.
  • Providing false information to obtain a scholarship will result in cancellation and recovery of the paid amount by the State/UT Government.
  • Scholarship amounts are directly transferred to the candidate’s bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
  • Candidates cannot receive any other scholarship benefits if they are benefiting from the MOMA scholarship scheme.

MOMA Scholarships – Duration

  • Selected students will receive a scholarship for the entire course duration.
  • Maintenance allowance is provided annually as a fixed lump sum amount.

MOMA Scholarships – Result
