• PG students in their second year of the program are eligible to apply for the IIT internship.
• Students in their third and fourth years of UG courses can also apply for the internship. 
• Applicants must have a ranking in their class among the top 20% to apply for the internship.
• The discipline of study offered will vary based on the project requirements mentioned by the faculty of IIT B.
• Applicants must be full-time students of the UG/PG programs they are pursuing during the term of the internship.
• They must get an NOC to prove that no other coursework is required from them during the period of internship.
• The internship duration ranges from four to six months and lasts from January to June.

How to apply for the IIT Bombay Internship Program?

To apply for the research internship at IIT Bombay, candidates must visit the link below https://www.ircc.iitb.ac.in/IRCC-Webpage/IITBInternship/HowApply.html and find the appropriate option to select and open the application form. Applicants can fill out the form after reading the instructions and submit it. Remember that registering before filling out the application form is mandatory.

• Candidates must upload a 500-word ‘statement of purpose’ (SOP) describing their research interest. 
• The SOP must mention the interest of the applicant in the project.
• It must also mention the specific background, skills, and experience of applicants as well as their long-term career plan.

• A preliminary screening of the application is the first step, which is followed by a test or interview.
