Eligibility Criteria for UGC NET 2024

Knowing more about the UGC NET exam eligibility is important, since the criteria have been revised earlier as well. 

1. Academic Qualifications: Earlier, students should have presented Master’s degrees (or equivalent) with a minimum of 55% marks. There is a relaxation of 5% for economically weaker and reserved sections. However, students should now get a minimum of 75% in an undergraduate program of four years. It should also be noted that students graduating from four-year undergraduate courses cannot be eligible for jobs as assistant professors.

2. Age Limit: In order to submit the application for a Junior Research Fellowship through the UGC NET, 30 years is the maximum age limit. Yet, both PhD admissions and Assistant Professor positions do not have any age limits.

Step 2: Click Apply Online for the examination (UGC NET for December 2024)

Step 3: Complete your registration with some basic information and generate the application number and the password 

Step 4: Login and finish the application form with vital details like your academic qualifications and so on

Step 5: Upload all necessary documents including passport-sized photographs, qualification certificates, and your signature.

Step 6: Make the application fee payment online. You can choose from methods like UPI, net banking, or even credit and debit cards

UGC NET Application Fee 2024

UGC NET 2024 Exam Pattern

The UGC NET 2024 exam will be conducted online as a 3-hour Computer-Based Test (CBT). It comprises two papers:

• Paper 1- General Aptitude MCQs (50 in total) with each carrying 2 marks (total of 100 marks)
• Paper 2- Subject-specific MCQs (100 in total) with each carrying 2 marks (total of 200 marks)

The total count of marks for both these papers is 300 and they are compulsory. They are also held in succession without any breaks.
