Amity university announces partnership
with FutureLearn

Amity University says the deal “underscores our commitment to online learners in India
and around the globe”

The 2018 QS Rankings place India’s Amity University in the top 3% of global higher education institutions.News comes this week of a partnership that will greatly boost the reach of its web-based arm, Amity University Online, as well as significantly increase its current range of professional courses. On May 7, Amity announced a deal with FutureLearn that will enable it to offer the social learning platform’s broad portfolio of flexible online courses to professionals, institutes and corporations. “This groundbreaking deal with FutureLearn will only further our mission and underscore our commitment to online learners in India and around the globe,” said Ajit Chauhan, chairman of Amity Online.

The move is in line with Amity’s domestic reputation as an early adopter of technology; the university was the first in India to provide a wireless campus, with more than 4,000 networked HP/IBM machines, and the first to offer mobile apps for its students’ intranet. A multitude of fields are covered by the new courses – business and management, tech and coding, politics and the modern world, creative arts and media, nature and environment, etc – with learning options including videos, written articles, audio, and quizzes.

“We are focused on making online education more accessible,” added Chauhan. “Today’s learners need to be able to access learning on their own schedules, and FutureLearn’s flexible, anytime, anywhere learning allows them to do just that.” “Our plan is to collaborate with prevalent universities and institutions based primarily out of the US, UK, and Australia, and create a model to bring education opportunities closer to learners than ever before.”
